Privacy Policy

The short version

TIMESURF.TV does not operate a server-side database of user information. We do not ask you to create an account, we do not collect your name, email address, or location, and we do not sell or share personal information with anyone. The site uses your browser's local storage for your own settings, and relies on three third-party services to actually deliver pages, embed videos, and (in the future) show ads. Details below.

What we store on your device

The site uses your browser's localStorage to remember:

• Your selected year range and category filters.
• The clips you've saved with the heart button.
• Your personal rankings of clips you've thumbs-up'd or skipped.
• Small UI preferences such as whether the info card is shown.

This information lives only in your browser. We don't see it, we don't sync it across devices, and clearing your browser's site data removes it.

What we do not collect

We do not run an account system. There is no signup, no login, no email address request, no contact form on the site. We do not place tracking pixels, fingerprint your browser, or attempt to identify you across sessions.

Third-party services

Hosting (Vercel)

The site is hosted by Vercel. As part of normal HTTP serving, Vercel receives standard request information such as IP address, user-agent string, requested URL, and referrer. Vercel uses this for security, abuse prevention, and traffic measurement. See Vercel's privacy policy for details: vercel.com/legal/privacy-policy.

Privacy-friendly analytics (Vercel Analytics)

We use Vercel Analytics to measure aggregate page views. Vercel Analytics is designed to be privacy-friendly: it does not use cookies, does not fingerprint browsers, and does not build cross-site profiles. We see aggregate counts of how many people visit each page; we do not see individual visitor identities. See Vercel's analytics privacy notice.

Embedded YouTube videos

Every clip on the site is a YouTube embed. When the player loads, your browser communicates directly with YouTube (a Google service), and YouTube may set its own cookies and collect playback information according to Google's privacy policy. We do not control or receive that data. You can review Google's privacy practices and adjust your ad settings at policies.google.com/privacy and adssettings.google.com.

Google AdSense (when enabled)

The site is designed to display ads served by Google AdSense once approved. When ads are live, Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads based on a user's prior visits to this site or other sites. Users can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ad Settings, or opt out of third-party vendor cookies at aboutads.info/choices. Ads are not loaded on screens that do not contain TIMESURF.TV content.

Your rights

Because we don't hold personal data about you on our own servers, there is no account data for us to export or delete. If you want to remove the data the site has stored locally, clear site data for timesurf.tv in your browser's settings. For requests relating to data held by the third parties listed above, contact those services directly. For anything else, including privacy questions or a request for clarification, write to hello@timesurf.tv.

Children

TIMESURF.TV is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Some clips embedded from YouTube may not be suitable for children depending on the era and category selected.

Changes

If we update this policy in a way that materially affects what data is processed, we'll update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
